Welcome to the Prairie House

Bald eagles, great blue heron and deer are your neighbors when you visit the Prairie House.

The 4+ Bedroom 3.5 Bath prairie style home sits atop a glacial drumlin overlooking 120 acres on scenic Lake Sinissippi. Our guests have coined it a "birder's paradise" as wildlife viewing can be enjoyed from inside with its ceiling to floor windows, observation deck and screened cedar porch, and outside along hiking trails that wind along the organic gardens,14 acre woods, naturalized shoreline, and18 acre prairie where sixty-five native flower species and seven prairie grasses provide a dynamic collage of colors across the seasons. Two kayaks, two canoes and a paddleboat are available to guests for exploring the marshy bays where bald eagles nest and white pelicans, sandhill crane and great blue heron are frequently sited.

Prairie House is a Wisconsin Licensed Tourist Rooming House welcoming visitors from around the world with quality lodging, gracious amenities and personalized service since 2006. We're conveniently located one hour from Milwaukee and Madison airports, 2 hours from Chicago and 4 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
