Learn the basics in a transformative and enjoyable one hour session with a seasoned mindfulness practitioner and teacher. We'll start with a brief overview of the history, science, research, and working definition of mindfulness and dive right in with exploring guided mindfulness practices - relaxation body scan, mindfulness meditation, and compassion meditation. The session is designed to introduce these evidence-based practices to help you cope with everyday stress, pain and illness and cultivate daily relaxation, resilience, and joy. This is an opportunity to explore firsthand why mindfulness is practiced in hospitals to Fortune 500 boardrooms to NBA locker rooms. This session is an overview of the traditional MBSR 8 Week Course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The 8 Week MBSR Course can be arranged for groups of up to 15 persons.
